Monica Geers got her start in mind power training when she was 9 y.o. Her mother brought home material from the Silva Mind Control training and told her that this is how adults used their minds properly. Monica assumed that the da Silva methods were normative processes for competent adults.
Monica discovered to her surprise that other people didn't always have the habits of using their minds "like adults are supposed to."
Her free time got tied up helping other people learn how to use their minds for more effective outcomes.
In her early 20s, Monica discovered hypnosis and realized that she was using the methods known through out ages by different names. In 1985, she found Omni Hypnosis in Ft. Lauderdale, studied with Rev. Jack Mason, and Jerry Kein. She was certified as a Master Hypnotist with the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, founded by Mark Gilboyne aka Gil Boyne. She opened a private practice in hypnosis and sought additional training from the best hypnotists she found in the field.
In 1987, she spent a month in study with Gil Boyne, highest paid hypnotist in Las Vegas the year Monica was born. Giboyne studied at Esalen with Fritz Perls, founder of Gestalt Therapy.
Within three years of focusing on medical applications of hypnosis, basing her work on the teachings of Dave Elman, local physicians were asking Monica how she was getting the excellent results they were seeing in their patients.
HYPNOSIS
The physicians' insisted that it was different from the hypnosis they knew.
Monica had mastered and was using the best, most effective strategies of hypnosis educators and hypnotists she found quick, direct, and persuasive.
From 1989 to 1994, Monica spent her free time compiling a three part training manual of "what works" in hypnosis.
